Description

An original and very 1st press of BFS in STEREO on UK Parlophone. Matrix 1/1. Tax Code "MT". 'Parlophone' mentioned around the perimeter of both labels - and '1st published' still evident too [all indicative of 1st issue]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 'stereo' gatefold cover. We also have the original Emitex inner sleeve too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few very light marks per side, and two superficial trails - but nothing likely to enter the audio spectrum. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. The intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. I tend to find it's the tracks SUN & Moonlight that tend to be the fussiest on this title. Even good looking copies can disappoint on these ultra fussy tracks. BUT - I'm pleased to report this stereo 1st copy pumps these tracks out clean and in a very assured manor. MUCH better than you typically find. All I could pick out was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. And one solitary tick in 'Eight Days'. If you're fussy about your audio have a good think about this copy. They don't ALL play this good. Nice clean intro to EIGHT DAYS. Overall, a stellar rendition and there's precious little to find fault with. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Very well preserved for this very fussy first gatefold title of the Beatles. It was also going to be at great risk of a battering due to its design - but this example has been taken care of. Nice flat front panel with excellent retention of colours. Relatively uncreased front with just a few down in bottom left and top left corners. The rear looks excellent too with superb preservation of colours. Just a few creases down in the left corner where its been bumped - otherwise superb. The interior looks real nice - just a touch of ageing on the flipbacks. Bit of edge wear - but nothing epic. The spine looks very good with a bit of wear at each end. All text still fully legible - and it looks much better than the typical example. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity. A very fine original example.
Emitex (Vg+) Light ageing. Small inscription in the top right [on the other side!!] But no splits.
