Description
An original 1 EMI Box copy of HELP! on the UK Parlophone label from 1969. Matrix 2/2. "Gramaphone" is still showing in the perimeter text and there's only 1 EMI Box showing - indicative of a late'69 pressing.The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original tri-flipback stereo cover as was used in the late 60's. Note that these late 60's heavy pressings deliver excellent audio just like those from a couple of years earlier. The original sepia toned inner sleeve is still present. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks both sides -nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Interference is extremely limited in nature - perhaps just a coupe of crackles audible in a couple of isolated moments. A storming rendition....the low-key acoustic numbers play lovely and clean. Not something every copy manages to deliver..'Yesterday' which is by far the trickiest to find playing clean exhibits just a few static crackles in a couple of spots. An impressive rendition which would be difficult to better.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) In rather impressive condition particularly given the passage of time. A nigh on perfect front with hardly any creasing or ageing..perhaps just the faintest hint at the opening. The rear looks superb and has pretty much totally avoided the ageing process. There are a couple of slight marks over toward the opening, but I think they probably occurred during the original printing process. All flipbacks perfectly intact and secure. Edge wear is slight and the spine 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) In lovely condition with little ageing. No splits.
