The Beatles * Help! * 2nd Mono Press * 1966 * UK * PMC 1255
2. Second pressing, 1966 until 1969. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. or Ernest J.Day & Co. front laminated flipback cover, with outline “mono” on front cover. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. With or without KT tax code on the label. Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 549-2; Side 2: XEX 550-2.
Around late 1966 a Times New Roman font appeared on the labels. The matrix number and the date stamp are now no longer vertically aligned and the tracklisting on side 2 is not lined up the same as before. Also, the asterisk next to I Need You* is closely aligned, no longer separated by a space. All the TNR copies we’ve come across have all had a closely aligned asterisk.
Variation A. This variant uses a small “The Beatles” band name on both sides of the label. But most curiously on side 1 the “Northern Songs, NCB” credit appears below the band name! The side 2 layout differs from the other TNR variants. It is believed this is the first TNR label that appeared and the side 2 error was soon rectified.

M / NM / M- : I barely never use them, even in case of unplayed looking record
EX : Unplayed looking record
EX- / EX minus : Barely unplayed looking record
VG++ : Few signs that prevent me from grading it EX- , but much more good looking than VG+
VG+ : record is looking played to well played (hairlines) , but no scratch is visually get some troubles while playing
VG : record is looking a lot played, with some local scratches that may affect playing.
VG- : record is same as VG, but scratches that may affect playing are barely covering the fisc
G / P : should be considered as filler item
