Description

An original 1st press of Help! on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 2/2. Please note the labels exhibit the abbreviated "Lark Mus. " publishing credit and the track 'I Need You' is followed by a space and then an asterisk [all indicative of very 1st press]. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg-) In nice condition despite having seen quite a lot of use. Do expect a number of marks each, an area of scuffing pattern on one side - so it's not a looker. Please only consider this Lp if you are someone that can handle these visible marks - it will not suit someone who requires a clean looking surface. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD level of playback with a couple of deviations. So, this LP is graded down and will suit someone who is keen to bag a genuine 1st issue, but can live with a bit of interference. Most tracks play ok just with the occasional pop and crackle. Others,  e.g. tracks 5&6 on side 1, exhibit more consistent crackle and would grade marginally below VG. But by and large an ok player and would suit someone who is able to appreciate this 1st press and can live with the said audio issues.
Cover (Vg) In nice shape with a pretty decent looking cover. First thing to note is that I'd expect the cover has at some point come into contact with the damp as it has a mild wave running through - this is not immediately obvious from the photos so do take that on board. The rear is still respectable and has avoided the worst ravages of ageing. Edge wear is light and the spine is pretty much all intact. Overall the cover retains very good rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Bit of ageing and a few creases. No splits or markings.
