The Beatles ?– Help! Parlophone ?– PMC 1255 UK 1965 Mono Vinyl LP in very good condition. Please see my other listings for more original Beatles albums...
Vinyl VG, clean glossy vinyl a few light surface marks plays really well. Clean labels, Occasional light pop.
Cover: VG, light storage wear, clean with no writing or tears. Bit of peeling of laminate on the flipback, legible spine, a few light creases round edge and wear to opening. Original inner split on one side. Not a bad copy at all.
Matrix: XEX 549-2 / XEX 550-2

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc. FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

First mono pressing. August 6, 1965. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. Capitol print. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve.
Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. or Ernest J.Day & Co. front laminated flipback cover, with outline “mono” on front cover.
There are three different label variations of this first mono pressing:
Variation A. The original 1st labels used a Sans-Serif font and the * credit indicator for “I Need You” was placed to the right of the song title with a space between: I Need You *.
Variation B. Other of the original labels used a thick font and the same * credit indicator for “I Need You” was placed to the right of the song title with a space between: I Need You *. In addition, the laqueur numbers (XEX.549 & XEX.550) shifted relative to date on the both sides.
Variation C. Side 1 is practically the same as in variation A but the titles of “Girl” on track 5 and 6 are now aligned directly above each other. Side 2 has a few more differences in the tracklist layout. Most noticeably, the second line now begins with BIEM instead of NCB; and “Yesterday” now no longer begins on its own line. The layout in general is neater with the space being used a little more efficiently.
This is Variation A of the first mono pressing with KT tax code on label side B.
Very similar to The Beatles - Help! (r4455832) which is Variation A too but with KT tax code on label side A. This characteristic differs both releases.
