Description
UK Beatles Help mono This is a rare record.
I am told this is a 1st pressing on Parlophone, black label with yellow logo and silver print.
Help, Parlophone, PMC 1255,XEX549/XEX550, August 6, 1965,mono.
Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. with outline “mono” on front cover.
Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 549-2; Side 2: XEX 550-2.
The original 1st labels used a Sans-Serif font
The titles of “Girl” on track 5 and 6 are not aligned directly above each other, like they are in 2nd and consequential pressings
The matrix number and the date stamp are vertically aligned, which was not the case in later pressings.
The band name on the 1st pressing appears in thick capitals and most curiously on side 1 the “Northern Songs, NCB” credit appears above the band name.
