The Beatles Hits EP 1965/66
3rd Pressing: GEP 8880
Matrix: 7TCE 760-2N and 7TCE 761-1N ( 2N/1N are 1st pressings)
Stampers: 1/4GHD and 1/4GHP ( KMT stamped in deadwax @ 12 o'clock on side 2 )
Listed as a 3rd pressing from 1965 this EMI disc has a solid centre, which, as far as I know, were not made by EMI until 1966. ( You'll have to make your own mind up on this one ). Either way it carries Palophone rim text and Sold in the UK, which means it was definately pressed pre-1969 and is a true rarity.
As well as this, the disc is also in outstanding condition. Apart from a very light needle mark on side 1 ( only visible when angled towards the light ) the playing surfaces appear as new and deliver flawless audio on all tracks.
The labels are vibrant and undamaged, showing minimal spindle trails around the centre area.
The original sleeve is in very good shape with square corners and no unwanted writing although it has lost its whiteness over the years. Inevitably, the record has left it's impression, front and back.
All in all, a fantastic and rare addition to any Beatles collection.
