Description

In this auction:

  • INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” LP by The Beatles

  • This is Vee Jay Records VJLP 1062.

  • This is a MONO (monaural) PRESSING.

  • It was released in 1964.

  • This is VERSION 1 of this LP with column back cover and INCLUDES the cuts “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You”. As you probably know, legal action against Vee Jay Records required the removal of these 2 songs from future issues of this LP. Vee Jay replaced them with “Ask Me Why” and “Please Please Me” which has come to be called Version 2.

  • The labels are black with perimeter color-band and Vee Jay oval logo.

  • BOTH COVER and VINYL ARE ABSOLUTELY AUTHENTIC! We know this because:

    1) The cover has George’s shadow and spine printing.

    2) The labels have “THE BEATLES” printed above the spindle hole.

    3) The vinyl has “AudioMatrix” stamped in the trail-off on both sides.

  • So you can bid with confidence that you are receiving the real deal and NOT a counterfeit.

  • The COVER is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. There is light overall wear which can be seen on the front cover. There are a couple of small pushes on the top right and bottom right corners. There are different levels of “balding” on all four corners. There is some light intermittent flaking on the top and bottom seams/edges, but the seams and spine are strong. The primarily white rear cover slick has very light aging/”foxing” and 4 small check-marks written lightly in ballpoint next to 4 songs. There are NO SEAM SPLITS and NO TEARS on this cover.

  • The VINYL is in NICE VG CONDITION. There are a number of small and light surface hairlines/scuffs (none of them are “feel-able”) and LOTS OF GLOSS! There is very little wear on the labels around the spindle hole (which is quite common to see on copies of this LP). There is a very tiny scuff on the Side 1 label under the last track, “Love Me Do”.

As you probably know VERSION 1 issues of this LP are MUCH TOUGHER TO FIND than the Version 2 issues.
