Original very rare Stereo copy Version 2 of The Beatles “Introducing the Beatles” released on February 10, 1964. Vee-Jay Records resolved the occasional problems with the availability of Stereo covers quite easily, they simply took the Mono covers of the album and placed a Stereo sticker on their front. Up for an auction here is one of these covers. I am not going to insist, but based on my experience I can tell that compared with the other format correcting sticker, the sticker affixed to this issue’s cover isn’t only different when it comes to its design but also its rarity. Unlike the other stickers executed on regular paper, this sticker was made using the foil paper. The gold color of the sticker looks much more impactful in comparison to the more common white paper “Stereophonic” sticker. The double “Stereo” oval logo gold-foil sticker measures 1⅜” x 1½” and is affixed at the bottom left corner of the front cover. The presence of the identifier of Imperial Paper Box Corp. in the form of the “2” number in the lower right-hand corner of the back cover makes it even rarer. No less rarer nowadays is the original Vee-Jay Records "Other Significant Albums of Interest on Vee-Jay Records" inner sleeve, coming with this copy, with a white background containing 25 color photos of other Vee-Jay album releases on each side with one of the sides fully corresponding to the “Ad Back” cover. Original true 1st print black Vee-Jay Stereo labels with a multi-color band, “Stereo” banner at 3 o’clock, “S” suffix in the catalog number “VJLPS 1062” and Vee-Jay brackets logo. Pressed at Monarch’s pressing plant in Los Angeles, the vinyl contains the ”63-3402” and “63-3403” catalog numbers which start with an “S” prefix and end with an “S” suffix. The “S” prefix and “S” suffix present in the runout groove of both sides in the runout groove is an absolute guarantee of this Stereo copy’s authenticity. The matrix numbers also contain the factory identifiers including the “MR in a Circle” and Delta (△) numbers. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - S 63-3402-S URJ △6313 MR in a Circle; Side 2 - S 63-3403-S URJ △6313x MR in a Circle.

The cover is graded as Excellent Minus. It's very clean and doesn't have any writing, splits or residue. The spine has a fully readable text. I grade the vinyl as Good as it contains marks, hairlines as well as scuffs from the original inner sleeve which is in Near Mint Minus condition. The glossy labels are wear- and scuff-free only having a few very light spindle marks that can be seen under a strong light source with Side 1 having some light writing inside the color band at 12 o'clock. The vinyl sounds well throughout with some light static. There's a light series of pops at the beginning of A3 track and end of A4 track, which along with the static, most likely could get reduced or go away if the record id professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
