-
“INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” LP by The Beatles
-
This is Vee Jay Records VJLP 1062.
-
It was issued beginning in February, 1964.
-
It is a MONO (Monaural) Pressing.
-
This is Version 2 of this LP title with column back cover and includes the cuts “Ask Me Why” and “Please Please Me” that replaced “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You” which were on Version 1 of this LP.
-
The LABELS are BLACK with PERIMETER COLOR-BAND, VEE JAY (VJ) BRACKETS LOGO and SILVER PRINTING.
-
There were five label typesetting variations for this brackets/color-band pressing. This variation has labels with the printing “LONG PLAYING” and “MICROGROOVE” in uppercase letters. “LONG PLAYING” is printed as two words, and “SIDE 1” and “SIDE 2” are in uppercase letters.
-
BOTH COVER and VINYL ARE ABSOLUTELY AUTHENTIC! We know this because:
1. The cover has George’s shadow and spine printing.
2. The LP title is printed on the spine.
3. The labels have “THE BEATLES” printed above the spindle hole.
4. The vinyl disc has the words “AudioMatrix” partially and lightly stamped in the trail-off on both sides.
(So you can bid with confidence knowing that you are receiving the real deal and not a counterfeit!)
-
The COVER is in VERY NICE VG+ CONDITION with some VERY LIGHT wear at the bottom edge of the front cover slick and the following to note: very small and light “pushes” on 2 corners; light to moderate wear on the corners with some slight “balding”; very light wear on the top seam with just a TINY BIT of flaking; moderate wear on the bottom seam with about 2 ¾ -inches of flaking/balding near the spine. As you can see in the images, it is a VERY NICE and CLEAN FRONT COVER!
The rear cover slick shows light to moderate foxing/aging mostly near the opening. There is NO writing, NO ring wear, NO tears and NO seam splits on this cover. Please refer to the images, and you can see this VEE JAY COVER displays VERY NICELY.

The VINYL is in VERY NICE VG CONDITION. There are a number of VERY LIGHT SURFACE hairlines/scuffs (None of them are “feel-able”), and the vinyl is QUITE GLOSSY. I’ve seen lots of copies of this LP (mono and stereo), and many had some seriously noticeable scratches. But, NOT THIS ONE! You can also see in the images that there is VERY LIGHT wear on the labels, especially around the spindle hole. There are several VERY LIGHT spindle trails mostly visible only from certain angles.
It’s a NICE COPY of this Vee Jay “Introducing… THE BEATLES” LP for your vinyl collection if you’re looking for one!
