Description
This mega rare black vinyl double album from Germany was released on Audifon Records in 1973. It features both the afternoon concert as well as the evening concert of the Beatles' performances in Houston, Texas on August 21, 1965. While the songs are performed in the same order, the time length of each song are all a bit different between the two concerts, one of the details that Beatles vinyl collectors love to study.
The cover photo of this double album import pressing features a rare photograph from their photo shoot for the infamous butcher cover for the first release of Yesterday and Today, which is most likely the most collectible or sought after of the Beatles album covers, as it was subsequently and quickly withdrawn due the outrage of the bad taste of the pictures themselves. The back photo is also a rare one of Paul, John and George in their blue striped performance jackets with matching trousers.
I purchased this album about forty-five years ago and have stored it safely since. I feel this limited edition live concert pressing is one of the rarest of my Beatle albums.
