Description

Original FIRST pressing debut Beatles single released in 1962 on the red/silver Parlophone label.

Catalogue number 45-R 4949

Ringo on drums & no tambourine version.

Upper/lower case Parlophone rim text

Label is with "Made in Great Britain" credit and comes in original clipped Type A company sleeve.

Matrix numbers 7XCE 17144-1N, 7XCE 17145-1N

MPZT Tax code in run out area though push out centre has MKT tax code embossed.

Stampers 1 RM, 1 GT

For those who refer to Bruce Spizer in his excellent book Beatles For Sale On Parlophone Records, I can identify this copy as Red Label Variation 4949.01A(iv)

Sleeve is in very good condition despite being clipped top left and right corners. There is also some writing to front cover but not too obtrusive.

Labels are in very good plus condition with some light spindle wear.

Disc is in excellent condition on both sides and audio plays superbly throughout with very few signs of play.

An excellent copy overall.
