Description

An original 1st pressing of Magical Mystery Tour on LP by Parlophone in 1976. Matrix 1/1. So, bear in mind that MMT 1st issue was back in 1967 on dual ep form and in LP form in the USA. The LP version had been a bit of a winner in the USA and Parlophone decided to reissue in LP format for the first time in 1976 and mimic the USA release. These '76 copies were in the two EMI box form and the distinguishing feature of a 1st press is 'EMI Records' in the perimeter text. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold with inner booklet. Also included is the original company inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In terrific condition and has clearly seen only the very lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. A very impressive rendition by any measure with great transparency. Interference is practically non-existent. We could only detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It really is a super-clean playing copy. Forget finding a better copy....it's all here!
Cover (Ex) In great condition and has clearly been carefully looked after. Lovely clean front with minimal handling which is quite unusual. Ditto the rear - way better than average. The interior is in great shape too and has avoided the usual fading. All the pages of the booklet are present and have not been heavily thumbed. The booklet is stapled into the outer cover and has not come free - likely most other examples. Please note at the top of the right page of the cover there is a bit of biro writing and what looks like tape residue. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and it doesn't feel far from a new cover. Great example.
Inner (Ex-) Very little ageing. One 1 inch side split.
