Magical Mystery Tour on YELLOW Vinyl (UK Pressing 1978) PCTC 255
In 1978 a Yellow vinyl version was pressed by Parlophone/EMI in the UK for EXPORT purposes only. This album was not supposed to be available to purchase in UK record stores. The Yellow album is on the black and silver Parlophone Label with 2 EMI boxes. The area close to the spindle hole is definitely of a grainier texture than usual Parlophone /EMI labels of this time. It also has an extra ring (see photos). Interestingly on the dead wax on side 1 is scratched by hand;
YEX 959 PCTC 255 side 1 HTM (possibly the initials of somebody?) and on side 2
YEX 960 PCTC 255 + side 2.
The record looks and plays in EXCELLENT condition and I would guess has hardly been played over the years. There are very few clicks on playback and nothing to distract the listener.
The album comes in a plain white inner sleeve and is housed in a GATEFOLD Picture Sleeve, incorporating the familiar 24 Page Colour Booklet stapled within it, in EXCELLENT (intact) condition. The gatefold cover is in superb condition also. The SPINE is proud and 100% intact.
