Description
The Beatles "Meet The Beatles"
This is the US Mono vinyl pressing on Capitol T-2047 from 1964. It was their first album on Capitol Records. It was #1 on Billboard for eleven weeks, starting on 2/8/64.
I'll do my best to describe it's label and cover variations. The labels are black with color band around the edge. It has the 3rd label variation with the BMI credit on the first and second song on side one and on the fifth song on side two. All other songs are credited to ASCAP. The matrix numbers are machine stamped : side one : T1-2047-T26 ( tiny ) #2 and side two : T2-2047-P25 ( tiny ) #2. I believe it is a Scranton pressing. The front cover has the title lettering "Beatles" in light brown. The back cover does not have 'produced by George Martin'. It has a Capitol Records inner sleeve with dark blue background.
The songs are : I Want To Hold Your Hand, I Saw Her Standing There, This Boy, It Won't Be Long, All I've Got To Do, All My Loving, Don't Bother Me, Little Child, Till There Was You, Hold Me Tight, I Wanna Be Your Man, and Not A Second Time.
Overall Condition is : Cover is M- / Record is M
The cover is Mint minus with no ring wear, no writing , and no seam splits. There is super slight front cover wear ( that can only be noticed when you're looking at an angle ). There is a small bump under the front cover slick at bottom center. The vinyl looks mint and it plays mint. It looks like it's never been played !! ( There are two pictures showing how glossy and perfect the vinyl surface is ) The labels are perfect with no spindle marks.
This copy is too good to take to a record show and have people handle.
About Me :
I started collecting records in 1966. I started selling in Goldmine in 1985. I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby. And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon. My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.
Packaging :
I take great care on every package and I do each one personally. I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard. Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard. Together they are very strong and unbendable. ( Even the postmen comment on how strong this cardboard is ! ) I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve. The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.
Postage : Weight : 1 pound 10 ounces
You have to pay for the postage. I pre-weigh every record, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges. There are no handling charges. This record will weigh 26 ounces ( 1 pound, 10 ounces ) when ready to ship. US bidders can figure out your own postage costs for US Priority or Media Mail. All US winners will get shipping through Paypal and an automatic email with the tracking number. Overseas bidders must use First Class Mail International. You will get an automatic email with the customs/tracking number. ( Buyers from Brazil must assume all risks for shipping to their country. ) I will send your record as soon as you pay ( same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM : Monday thru Saturday) I will combine shipping if you win more than one record. Please wait for me to send you an invoice for all of your records in one package.
