Description
Here are 2 Beatles’ 45 RPM Singles on the UNCOMMON Red and Orange Capitol Records “Target” Label including a MISTAKEN USA RELEASE OF THE CANADIAN SINGLE.
The records in this auction have the Capitol Records “C” logo. The red and orange “target” labels with “C” logos were issued 1969 – 1971. According to the Price Guide for the Beatles American Records, 6th Edition, after January, 1971 Capitol added a white “dot” to improve the logo resolution in the “C” logo. There are white “dots” in the “C” logos on the labels; therefore, both of these records were issued in Early 1971 to Spring, 1971.
Here are additional details:
Record #1:
-
“ALL MY LOVING” b/w “THIS BOY” by The Beatles
-
This is Capitol Records 72144.
-
The labels have the Capitol Records “C” logo with the white “dot” in the logo for resolution.
-
THIS WAS A “MISTAKEN USA RELEASE OF THE COMMON CANADIAN SINGLE” according to the Price Guide for the Beatles American Records, 6th Edition.
-
It was produced at Capitol’s Jacksonville pressing plant based on the “0” pressed into the trail-off.
-
You will notice that this record’s catalog number has 5 numbers instead of Capitol’s typical USA 45RPM catalog numbering for Beatles’ singles that have 4 numbers.
-
The VINYL is in NICE VG+ CONDITION with some very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feelable”), and the labels are clean. There is a very tiny “flea-bite” chip on the edge of the vinyl only on the “All My Loving” side, but it does NOT affect play. (Check the images.)
-
It comes with what I believe is the CORRECT CAPITOL TARGET PAPER SLEEVE.
Record #2:
-
“HELLO GOODBYE” b/w “I AM THE WALRUS” by The Beatles
-
This is Capitol Records 2056.
-
The labels have the Capitol Records “C” logo with the white “dot” in the logo for resolution.
-
It was produced at Capitol’s Scranton pressing plant based on the triangle “△” pressed into the trail-off.
-
The VINYL is in VERY NICE VG+ to Near Mint Minus (NM-) CONDITION with a few very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able”), and the labels are clean.
-
It comes with what I believe is the CORRECT CAPITOL TARGET PAPER SLEEVE.
A VERY NICE PAIR of Beatles’ singles on the UNCOMMON CAPITOL TARGET LABEL for someone’s Beatles vinyl collection.
