Description
PPM on the UK Parlophone label from 1973. Matrix -1/-1. Stampers 2-TO/3-TR. The LP still holds the 'Gramophone' text around the perimeter of the label as the late 60's copies did [and was discontinued in the UK in 1973] The record comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover including the original white inner sleeve. This is a tube-cut original like the 60's pressings, but in addition it's been kept in vault/archive condition...and that's very very unusual.
Vinyl (NM) Yes, you read that correctly ....don't under estimate how unusual a 'near mint' copy of a vintage record is. This LP has seen very very minimal use. The vinyl basically looks like it has rolled straight off the press. Shiny like new and, even under close inspection, I can barely see a single mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEARMINT level of playback. The audio playback quality is sublime..not the merest hint of interference all the way through. Intros and inbetweens are absolutely silent. In addition, due to the fact that this is a decent tube-cut pressing the audio has a lovely wide range with bags of detail just like those early 60's originals. This is without doubt the best rendition of PPM I've ever heard...
Cover (Ex+) Again, in remarkably well preserved condition...it just looks like it has been archived for 45 years! The front is shiny like a mirror and the rear is perfectly white apart from a couple of light ageing spots. There's no edge wear to speak of and the opening edges are sharp like a newly manufactured cover. Overall the cover has perfect rigidity like it was made yesterday. Don't think there are many left like this>>>>>>!!
Inner (Ex) Perfect condition. No ageing and no splits at all.
