Description
A third press of PPM on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Tax code 'ZT'. Stampers 1-MD/2MH. Please note the labels are consistent with an early press from 1963 - there's no 'Sold In The UK..' statement apparent. In addition, the third pressing has no 'recording first published' statement. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J. Day cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% original and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb shape and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros are quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity and barely any interference at all. The only slight deviation is in 'Love Me Do' where you can just make out one or two static crackles here and there. Other than that playback is as clean as you could possibly hope for and intereference does not feature at all.
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. These early EJ Day covers often suffer a lot of damage and fade - not here! A lovely shiny front with and a rear which has escaped most of the usual ageing. Edge wear is very light indeed and overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and really is a very very fine example. The spine is 100% intact all text fully visible. The only vaguely noticeable issue is a touch of wear in the extreme bottom right corner. That really is about all that's worth mentioning.
