Description

After much research, I think I can safely say that this a 4th pressing of the 'Please Please Me' LP by The Beatles, from 1963. All those years ago I had written on the LP sleeve 'December 25th 1963' - so proving it wasn't one of the 1964 pressings! Here are the detaIls: Front Cover: Laminated. 'Photo: Angus McBean' in bottom right hand corner. Large 'mono' in top right hand corner. Back Cover: Flip-Back Cover. 'Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London' in bottom right hand corner. Inner sleeve: die cut, 'Use Emitex', polythene-lined. Record Label: Black label with yellow logo and silver print. 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd.' printed at start of perimeter print. 'Recording first published in 1963'. KT Tax code on label. Matrix Numbers: Side 1: XEX 421 - 1N, Side 2: XEX 422 - 1N. Please look at the photos for details of the condition of the cover and the record. As you can see, this record was bought for Christmas 1963, as I have written the date along with my name in the top left hand corner of the back cover. I have also written my name and the name of the LP on the front of the inner sleeve cover. I also put my initials 'JC' either side of the '£' sign on both sides of the record label. There is some foxing, brown marks and damage to the cover sleeve. (See photos). I have not been able to play the record, as I no longer have a record player. Visually, it looks in good condition with a few slight scratches and scuffs. I always took great care of my records and it has now been stored away carefully for approaching half a century! If the sound of the record is not acceptable, I will reimburse the buyer on return of the record.
