Description

You’re bidding on a super rare US misprint of the Beatles’ first single on Vee Jay, Please Please Me. The label misspells their name as “Beattles,” and even copies with this Vee Jay label (oval vs brackets) with the corrected spelling are scarce. The misprints are even rarer.

The vinyl plays well, flat and clean shiny wax. The A side plays VG++, no noise even in the intro/runout. B side is also VG+ with only the faintest crackle on intro/out groove, may just be a tiny bit of dust as I didn’t clean it. And speaking of cleaning, there is residue from a name tag that I neglected to clean too, leaving that to the buyer

Samples available on request!

Sleeve is not quite the correct one, as it’s the one that Vee Jay released singles in during 1964, the year after this came out. They may have run out, hard to know. Nonetheless, sweet to have a 55 year old stock sleeve in decent shape! Some splitting but solid overall.

Don’t sleep! These rarely come up and almost never this clean. Last one sold on eBay last year for $2,000. Bid with confidence, experienced eBay and Discogs seller (workers_in_song on discogs,) former book store employee and now part time book/record scout. If you’re in the Seattle area, always looking to trade/buy/sell. Let me know! Happy bidding!
