Description
This is a UK Stereo pressing of The Beatles Please Please Me' LP on the black & yellow Parlophone label.
Mostly referred to as 5th pressing but on Beatlebay described as 6th Press

6th Press - type 2b.Same as type 2a above, except the 4th line on SIDE 2, there is a DOT missing after (Ludix Mus , and a DOT missing between the "5" and "A TASTE OF HONEY".
Stampers 1 RA & 1 GL
Garrod & Lofthouse laminated sleeve graded Very Good – minor wear at corners a slight foxing / discolouration on the rear (see photos).
No owner marks.
The spine is intact with the title fully readable (see photo)
The labels are very clean with very few traces of wear (side 1 has some wear around the spindle hole); they carry the correct "The Parlophone Co Ltd." & "Sold in the UK...” credits.
Matrix info: Side 1: XEX 94-1, stampers RA at 3 o'clock & 1 at 9 o'clock Side 2: XEX 95-1, stampers GL at 3 o'clock, 1 at 9 o'clock
Sound quality (the record has been to a lot of parties and not always played on high quality equipment. So if you are looking for a record that plays without flaws this is not the record for you) –
Side 1/ plays throughout fairly well – no skips or major clicks, minor hiss / distortion and occasional pops and small clicks most noticeable between and at the very beginning of the tracks where there has (presumably) been needle drop.
Side 2/ Track 1 “Love Me Do” has major hiss and crackle and pops (and is definitely the worst track on the whole album).
Track 2 "P.S. I Love You" plays throughout fairly well – no skips or major clicks, minor hiss / distortion and occasional pops and small clicks.
Track 3 "Baby It’s You" plays throughout fairly well – no skips or major clicks, minor hiss / distortion and occasional pops and small clicks but the click prominent on the appears at the very end.
Track 4 “Do You Want Know a Secret” – click throughout (see photo of scratch)
Track 5 onward plays throughout fairly well – no skips or major clicks, minor hiss / distortion and occasional pops and small clicks most noticeable between and at the very beginning of the tracks where there has (presumably) been needle drop.
If anything I’m being hypercritical.
I’m selling this as more as collector’s item rather than a playing record and this is reflected in the low starting price.
