The Beatles Please Please Me Stereo Parlophone 1964
Description
The Beatles Please Please Me 3rd Yellow & Black Stereo Parlophone with the vinyl in a lovely condition.
This WAS the 4th press until the discovery of the 3rd press with the little 33 1/3 (please see my other auction), and is now classed as a 5th press.
This hasn't been played very much as the sound is crystal clear with nothing more than the occasional static crackle which is probably not there now as I've just played it through. A few marks, but prove to be inaudable as can be heard. No Pops, No wear to the grooves, No crackles at the very start of side 1 or 2 either! Very nice.
As can been seen by the photo's, there are superficial marks so must have been left out of it's sleeve for a week or so somewhere in it's near 50 year life though incredibly this doesn't affect the sound at all.
This also has an undocumented " Indented " label on one side (side 1) which seems to be on very early pressings from this period also.
The rare Mid-Size Cover is in a nice acceptable condition with no tears or anything missing with just a bit of damage to the left corner. These rare mid-size stereo covers were only made by Garrord & Lofthouse and are believed to be a mistake created probably around the release of A Hard Day's Night (as these had mid-size stereo's on the front cover).
This is the proper Fifth pressing of the Stereo Please Please Me.., and actually it's version 2 as there was an earlier one with the "Rec First Pub" line more towards the centre hole.
