 THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'


Here is one of The Beatles' rarest UK label variations with just THREE known existing copies.

Both labels are of the regular mid-1963 yellow & black Parlophone variety without 'Sold in UK..' and with 'Parlophone Co. Ltd.' rims.

The error is on the side 2 label where track 6. 'There's A Place' has switched places with track 5. 'A Taste of Honey'.

Most copies with this error were destroyed at the factory with just a small handful escaping that fate.


An 'MT' purchase tax code is present around the side 1 centre hole.

Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N

Stamper codes: 2/AO & 4/OO

Vinyl weight: 163g


Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed cover with a large front 'MONO' indicator.

Complete with its original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve.

Labels: EXCELLENT

Both are clean & bright with a just a small scratch on the side 2 label and some light spindle wear around each centre hole.

Visual & Audio: VERY GOOD -

This rare disc has been played and enjoyed. Although clean, both playing surfaces display several noticeable surface marks/scuffs and light scratches consistent with frequent/regular play. Audibly we detected a few clicks on 'Misery' and some groove/playwear on 'Twist & Shout', but no overall significant deterioration to the sound quality.
This condition of this copy is better than those of the other two existing copies. 

Cover: VERY GOOD

A strong & fully intact example with a clean front laminate bearing minor storagewear rubbing only. There is minor shelfwear to the corners and upper seam but no splits or tears to any part. The rear panel is clean with the only blemish being the original owner's name written in the upper left corner. All of the delicate flipbacks, seams and spine are undamaged.
