Description
This is the 4th UK Mono pressing of the album "Please Please Me" by The Beatles on the Parlophone label catalogue number PMC 1202. Matrix numbers: Side 1, XEX 421-1N, stampers RP G @ 3 oclock, 1 12 @ 9 oclock. Side 2, XEX 422-1N, stampers R PR @ 3 oclock, 0 15 @ 9 oclock. Labels have the Parlophone Company rim and remarkably, there is no embossed tax code. The vinyl on both sides retains full factory sheen, side 1 has only a couple of light sleeve removal lines. Side 2 has a couple of light sleeve removal lines (outstanding). Labels are remarkably clean and display only moderate spindle lines. There is no "Sold in UK" text. The original Emitex inner is in nice shape with no splits. The outer and rarer E J Day sleeve is in great shape with a nice strong spine that only has corner bump damage to the top and bottom. Flip backs remain nice and tight and the rear is remarkably white. A great example of an early sleeve. The original small price sticker is still attached to the front right corner under the Mono logo 25/-. Whilst this could have been removed, I feel it adds authenticity to the item. This item has been carefully looked after and in a remarkable keeper copy condition.
Overall a rare item in remarkably great shape and must grade EX+
