Label : Parlophone / PMC 7009 / 1966 / MONO
Matrix Numbers : XEX 605-2 [mother: 6 ][stamper: PO ] / XEX 606-2 [mother: 2 ][stamper: OP ]
Notes : Original 2nd Mono Pressing, black & yellow Parlophone labels with 'The Gramophone Co.' text around the rims and 'Sold In UK...' text across label centres, 'K T' tax code embossed on the side-2 label, front laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve with small black 'Mono' text in top right corner, plain white inner sleeve with 'Patents Applied for' and 'Made in Great Britain' text.
This pressing has the scarcer side-2 label featuring 'Dr. Robert' text [rather than 'Doctor Robert'].
Condition : the vinyl is quite clean and glossy with a couple of light hairline marks visible and two little scuffs on side-1, we are playing through selected areas of the disc now and it plays very well, there is evidence of minor static or tiny ticks in places, with a hint of distortion during louder moments. It has a lovely clear and warm mono sound - a really good sounding copy!
The labels are clean with some light wear and spindle marking to the centres. The plain white inner sleeve shows a light wear and creasing from use and also has a couple of small stains.
The outer sleeve is clean and glossy with a little rubbing and wear to the corners, there are a few small laminate edge lines, a slight crease to the bottom right corner and a few thumbnail lines to the laminate near to the opening edge. The text on the spine is completely unworn. The rear of the sleeve shows some light signs of wear.
A very listenable copy of this classic Beatles album!
