RARE MONO FIRST PRESSING, WITH ALTERNATE VERSION OF TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS, WITH THE SIDE 2 MATRIX OF XEX 606-1, GREAT EXAMPLE, SUPERB SOUND QUALITY, WITH A BEAUTIFUL GARROD & LOFTHOUSE LAMINATED SLEEVE.
This first pressing was quickly withdrawn, which features the different mix of Tomorrow Never Knows, known as (Remix 11) The song has more Tape Loops, and a slightly longer Honky Tonk Piano at the end of the song.
This 1966 alternate mono mix was available only on UK 1st Issue vinyl mono pressings of 'Revolver' with the side 2 matrix 'XEX 606-1' and has never been issued on CD.
The Beatles ‘REVOLVER’ album - considered one of most ICONIC and COLLECTIBLE Albums of the 20th Century - was released by Parlophone UK on the 5th August 1966. EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER by Collectors around the World today, this is a great example of the RARE FIRST ISSUE MONO VARIANT LP, with the side 2 matrix of **XEX 606-1**, containing the ALTERNATE VERSION of Tomorrow Never Knows.
Album Description and Condition:
The ORIGINAL 1966 UK mono, FIRST ISSUE Parlophone Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK…..’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.
Both record labels are in very nice Excellent Plus condition, both labels are very clean and show only a few light centre spindle lines.
Both sides of the heavyweight Vinyl Disc are in Excellent to Excellent condition, one of the better condition 606-1s to have come into stock, the vinyl disc shows a few light surface hairlines, none of which effect the superb sound quality.
Having played the album, the sound quality is fantastic, there are no clicks, pops skips, or the dreaded background crackle, the sound quality of this LP is Excellent Plus a great sound quality, the all important Tomorrow Never Knows track play’s perfectly.
Side 1 matrix: XEX 605-2 and Side 2 XEX 606-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1 RH and Side 2: 3 MO.
The album comes in it’s original white Made in Great Britain inner bag which is in superb Excellent Plus condition, There is no handwriting, tearing or seam splitting, just some light creasing.
The Vinyl LP is housed in it’s ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED, FIRST ISSUE, Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd Patents Pending sleeve, printed ‘mono’ to the top right hand corner.
The Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in very nice Excellent Plus towards Near Mint condition. The front laminated panel still retains its deep gloss shine with hardly a sign of record indentation, with only very mild corner bruising to three corners. The back panel is clean and undamaged. The spine edge and other two edges are undamaged, overall this is a very impressive original mono Revolver sleeve.
This is great example of this ICONIC RARE Variant Beatles UK FIRST ISSUE Album, and one of the best conditions I have seen for a long time.
