The XEX 606-1 matrix variation is the rarest produced version of what is widely regarded as The Beatles most creative and finest work. It contains a unique extended mix of the simply magnificent track 'Tomorrow Never Knows' which has never been issued on any any subsequent release of 'Revolver'.
The Beatles ‘Revolver’ album is considered one of most iconic and collectible Albums of the 20th Century, and was released by Parlophone UK on the 5th August 1966.
Album Description and Condition:
The original1966 UK mono, firts issue Parlophone Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK…..’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.
Both record labels are in Excellent condition, the labels are free from any damage, the yellow and silver printed text are clear and undamaged, both labels show some centre spindle lines.
Both sides of the heavyweight vinyl Disc are in Excellent Minus condition, the vinyl surfaces are clean and bright, and show only surface hairline scratches to both sides, there are no deep scratches to the vinyl surfaces.
Having played the album, the album play’s well through the tracks, (please note) that there is back ground crackle through the tracks, also the odd light click can be heard, however, the album play’s through without skips or jumps, the important Tomorrow Never Knows track play’s without faults.
Side 1 matrix: XEX 605-2 and Side 2 XEX 606-1.
Side 1 stampers: 5 GL and Side 2: 1 GO.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 1 record label.
The album comes in it’s ORIGINAL white inner record bag which is in fine condition, the bag has no tears or seam splits.
The Vinyl LP is housed in it’s original, front laminated first issue, Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd, London picture sleeve, printed ‘mono’ to the top right hand corner.
The sleeve is in superb Excellent condition, the front laminated panel still retains its gloss shine, with only very tiny bumps to two corners, and very mild record indentation, and a light crease to the bottom left corner.
The reverse panel of the sleeve is clean and undamaged, with a very clean black area. All three large flipbacks are undamaged, and show light age spots. The spine edge and other two edges are free from splits, the spine edge wording Revolver- The Beatles is clearly legible.
A very respectable example of the Revolver album with the side two matrix of XEX 606-1 continues to be a favourite among Beatles collectors, this UK FIRST ISSUE Album, is now in it’s 46th year since the original release back in August 1966.
