The Record is visually graded Excellent to Excellent Plus
The Record Labels are graded Mint Minus
The Cover is graded Very Good Plus
This is a UK Stereo copy of The Beatles Revolver from August 1966.
The labels, matrix numbers and stampers are correct for a first issue.
The yellow and black labels have the text “Sold in UK”, and The Gramophone Co Ltd is printed around the rim.
Record
The record has been well cared for and has no scratches or scuffs, just the normal light hairlines seen when viewed under a bright light. The vinyl is clean and has retained its beautiful glossy appearance. The record is visually graded Excellent/Excellent Plus.
Labels
The yellow and black Parlophone labels are in superb condition. Under close examination I could only see one or two spindle lines that do not go over the silver label text. There is no unwanted marks or writing and no spindle hole wear. The labels are graded Mint Minus.
Cover:- The Cover is graded Very Good Plus and has NO writing, tears or seam splits.
Front Cover
The front cover designed by Klaus Voormaan is clean and bright. It has a few laminate wrinkles, two near to the spine (1cm long) can be seen in the cover scan. There is some very slight browning along the record entry edge where the laminate has failed to reach.
Back Cover
The back cover has just a few age related storage marks and a very light crease near the top left corner.
Spine Edge
The spine is straight with no splits and just a couple of wrinkle marks to note. The spine text “Revolver-The Beatles” is complete.
Record Entry Edge
The entry edge is completely straight with just some very minor feathering.
Top and Bottom Edges
Completely straight, no splits.
Corners
The corners have some mild rounding and slight wear.
Sound Quality
I have play graded the record entirely and the audio quality is astonishing! The entire record plays to perfection, in beautiful stereo sound seperation. There is NO background noise, NO hiss, NO crackle, and NO hint of distortion at all. Even all of the linking grooves are completely silent! Perfect sound reproduction throughout – simply amazing!
Overall
Overall this is an excellent grade first press Revolver. I would have liked the cover to be a slightly higher grade but it is by no means a bad cover, just storage related effects and absolutely nothing serious. The all important fantastic audio quality makes this one highly recommended.
