Description

Released in August 1966, this ground-breaking album marked not only a change of style for The Beatles but for popular music itself.

This UK 1st mono pressing dates from day of release on 5th August 1966 on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7009

Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text with an 'KT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 2 label. This early copy has the misprint "Dr. Robert" instead of "Doctor Robert" on side 2 label.

Matrix numbers: XEX 605-2 & XEX 606-3

Stamper codes: 1/GOO & 3/GDT

The disc is housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback, 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.

Housed in rice-paper lined 'Use EMITEX...' inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Sleeve (EX+): An excellent example of this striking cover which retains a fine high-gloss front panel which is free from any 'thumbnail' creasing. There is a larger crease to the front, near the top of the spine, which in affect this has caused some minor laminate lifting. The exposed rear panel still retains its bright white colour, free from any yellowing often common with these. All flipbacks are in-place and the seams are smooth & unstressed.

Record (EX+/Near Mint): Immaculate factory-fresh playing surfaces which appear 'as new' in strong daylight. Closer inspection directly beneath halogen light reveals a very faint scuff to side 1, but this is only superficial. Side 2 also has a very faint whispy hairline mark. Both labels are in pristine condition with only one light spindle mark to one side.

Inner-sleeve (EX): Original EMITEX inner is in excellent condition, free from any seam splits.
