Description
For auction is a rare and very desirable copy of The Beatles Revolver. This is the famous ‘withdrawn mix’ version in true 1st U.K. press mono form. Very soon after pressing began John Lennon realised they had used the wrong mix for the track ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’, and a new lacquer, with new mothers and stampers, had to be quickly produced. These records with the withdrawn XEX 606-1 matrix are rare and very collectible.
Original Parlophone mono sleeve is in excellent condition with minimal wear for its 54 years. Spine fully intact and readable.
Inner sleeve is in VG+ condition.
Record labels clean and minimal spindle marks. XEX 605-2 and XEX 606-1 matrices. 5GR/2GL stampers.
Visually the record is borderline VG/VG+, with several scuffs and hairlines visible, but nothing deep or feelable. Sonically plays at least VG+ and most of it excellent, apart from a few very quiet clicks on the last track of side 1. Otherwise just very occasional light crackles.
A great chance to own a very playable copy of a very rare record.
