Description
THE BEATLES LP "REVOLVER" 1966 UK 1st MONO PRESSING. This initial mono pressing, available for a few days only upon release in August 1966, contains an alternate version of the song 'Tomorrow Never Know' (otherwise known as 'remix 11'). This version features the sound effects dropped in different places in the track and also has a slightly longer fade-out not audible in the replaced 606-2 & 606-3 cuts. Despite 'Revolver being reissued in mono in the current 'Remasters' series, it does NOT have the 'remix 11' version of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' - it can only be found here on this 1st UK vinyl pressing. This respectable example of the abovementioned 1966 1st UK mono pressing on the yellow & black Parlophone label, PMC 7009. Both include the "Sold in UK.." text & "Gramophone Co. Ltd.." rims. The side 2 label carries the initial "Dr. Robert" spelling. The 'KT' tax/price code is visible around the side 1 centre hole. Housed in a front-laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover. Complete with its plain white "Patents..." inner-sleeve. Matrix numbers: XEX 605-2 & XEX 606-1. Stamper codes: 1/RM & 1/OR. Condition: Sleeve: EX; Labels: VG+; Visual: VG (vinyl has a lot of different scratches and traces of unknown origin, see photos carefully); Play: VG+ (disc has many scratches but both sides played very good+, heard a faint sound of sand and strong crackle (1-2 seconds) on two tracks: "For No One" and "I Want To Tell You").
