Description

For sale is a copy of The Beatles sixth studio album, Revolver.

This is an original Stereo 5th Pressing produced in 1971 which features the ‘2 box EMI’ black and silver Parlophone labels.

Unlike the majority of ‘2 box EMI’ pressings this copy has the early ‘crossover’ flipback sleeve.

Both the record and sleeve are in near mint condition and would be a superb addition to any collection.

Many vinyl records are mis-sold on eBay. There are several details which identify this copy as a true 5th pressing. They are:

 

  • ·     Front side laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve.
  • ·     Black labels with silver boxed Parlophone logo.
  • ·     EMI printed within a box at the bottom and top of the label(2 box).
  • ·      ‘P 1966’ publishers’ year.
  • ·     ‘PCS 7009’ catalogue number.
  • ·     Matrix numbers YEX 605-1 (side 1) and YEX 606-2 (side 2).

 

I try to take pictures which provide a fair representation of the condition of a record and the sleeve. If interested, please read below for a detailed discussion including an audio description.

I use the Goldmine standard as a reference for grading.

 

Vinyl: Near Mint

 

The vinyl is in superb visual condition and has fantastic playback.

The vinyl surface retains the original gloss sheen.

The labels are bright and have virtually no spindle wear.

There are minimal marks to either side.

The audio on both sides is fantastic; crisp and clear with no background crackle.

A really enjoyable record to listen to.

 

Sleeve: Near Mint

 

The sleeve looks brand new.

Both the front and rear are very clean and retains the originalbright colours.

The corners are sharp, and the spine is well defined.

There are no rips, tears or writing present anywhere on the sleeve.

You would struggle to find one better than this.

 

Inner Sleeve: Excellent

 

The inner sleeve is the original plain white ‘patent pending’ EMI inner sleeve.

It is very white without any staining or discolouration.

There is no writing or creasing.

Also included in the sale is an audiophile quality inner sleeve which provides the best possible protection for the record.

 

An unbelievably well preserved 50 year old record. This is a copy for a true Beatles fan that wants a great record to listen to.

 

The outer sleeve, vinyl, and inner sleeve are all housed within a premium quality polythene outer sleeve.

The record will be sent within a padded vinyl record mailer and will be sent via an insured courier.
