Description
I am selling more duplicates of BEATLES and BEATLES-RELATED LPs from my collection. So, please check my other auctions.
In this auction:
· “RUBBER SOUL” by the Beatles
· This LP is Capitol Records SW - 2442.
· It was issued December 8, 1965.
· It is a FIRST STEREO PRESSING OF BOTH the COVER & the VINYL!
We know this because:
1) The COVER has the “NEW IMPROVED FULL DIMENSIONAL STEREO” banner at the top of the front cover slick with “FULL DIMENSIONAL STEREO” in brown.
2) The usual “File Under: The Beatles” language often found at the top right corner is missing from the part of the back liner that wraps around to the front cover.
3) First-run labels have the names of the group members but do NOT have “The Beatles”. (This was omitted on the first-run labels.)
· The COVER is in STRONG VG+ CONDITION. It is still in its ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP. There is an irregular-shaped portion of the shrink wrap (approximately 6 inches x 3 inches) missing at the lower right corner area. This allowed some light wear to occur on the cover in that area and caused me to grade the cover STRONG VG+ instead of NEAR MINT.
· Due to the primarily black/dark cover, this is a tough LP cover to find in nice and clean condition.
· The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG CONDITION. There are some light surface hairlines/scuffs. The vinyl is glossy.
· The lower right area of the rear cover does NOT have a Capitol pressing plant number. Covers without the pressing plant number were issued at Capitol’s Scranton plant until 1966.
· The vinyl has a triangle pressed in the trail-off area which indicates that this vinyl was pressed at Capitol’s Scranton plant.
· THEREFORE, this vinyl and cover are properly matched with BOTH originating from Capitol’s Scranton Pressing Plant.
· NOTE: Some sellers may intentionally or accidentally switch vinyl and covers in order to create an LP with nicer cover and vinyl to sell. I don’t do that. This is the correct cover and vinyl for this pressing/issue.
· This LP also comes with its ORIGINAL CAPITOL RECORDS OLIVE-GREEN INNER PAPER SLEEVE that was issued with first pressings of this LP.
· Overall, it’s a NICE FIRST STEREO PRESSING of this Beatles’ title to add to your vinyl collection.
