Description

An original 3rd mono press of Rubber Soul on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 3/3.  Stampers 1-OG/2-OL. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In excellent condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The 3rd press of RS is well known for being a supremely good cut from an audio perspective - and it is all on show here. There's some real quality audio on offer with super levels of transparency. Interference, thankfully, is both minor and infrequent. We couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a few isolated spots. And certainly nothing vaguely invasive - it really is a very clean rendition which you'd struggle to better. Even the low-key tracks like 'Michelle' play clean....which is not an easy find.
Cover (Ex-) In great condition and has been cared for down the years. Nice front with just some light creasing. There's some light ageing in evidence on the rear, but nothing overtly obvious. Edge wear is relatively light and all the text on the spine is all still legible. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Emitex (Vg+) Light ageing a couple of small seam splits.
