In this auction: 

·       “RUBBER SOUL” by the Beatles  

·       This LP is Capitol Records T - 2442.

·       This LP is a MONO (Monaural) Pressing which is designated by the letter “T” that precedes the catalog number on both the cover and the labels.

·       This LP was issued December 8, 1965.

·       This is guaranteed to be a 1st MONO PRESSING, because the 1st pressings omitted “THE BEATLES” on the labels. Only their names were printed. (The 2nd mono pressings inserted “THE BEATLES” between the LP title and the names of the group members.)  

·       According to Perry Cox, this Capitol-marked COVER, of cardboard construction with front cover slick overlapping the rear slick, is the correct cover to go with this 1965 pressing. This COVER was issued from Capitol Records’ Scranton pressing plant. This is based on the fact that there is no number printed on the rear cover at the lower right corner.

·       The VINYL does not have a symbol in the trail-off wax which indicates that the vinyl was also pressed at Capitol’s Scranton Pressing Plant.

·       THEREFORE, this cover and vinyl are correctly paired (as they were issued) from the same Capitol pressing plant (Scranton).

·       The COVER is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION. The front cover image is without wear and the front cover borders are snow-white. Only some light aging of the white reverse beside the opening and a small light discoloration under Ringo’s photo at the bottom of the rear of the rear cover keeps me from grading the cover Near Mint. (The camera flash seemed to enhance the small discoloration more than in normal lighting.) It’s still one of the NICEST “Rubber Soul” MONO Covers that I’ve seen that wasn’t still in its original shrink wrap!

·       The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION with some very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able”) and lots of gloss.

·       This LP comes with its ORIGINAL OLIVE-GREEN CAPITOL RECORDS INNER PAPER SLEEVE (which is the correct inner sleeve for this Capitol 1st Mono Pressing issue).   

A NICE COPY of this ORIGINAL CAPITOL BEATLES 1965 1st MONO PRESSING of this LP to add to your vinyl collection!
