The Beatles - Rubber Soul
UK First Stereo Edition, 1965
Vinyl Condition: It's near mint in my opinion. The grooves look new. The label still looks new.
I believe this record may have only been played once or twice. I believe that because when you
look very closely at the label you can notice where the person placing the record on the player missed
hitting the hole perfectly and you made a slight trace line into the label. If the record had been played more,
you would see more evidence of the spinel missing the hole. Everyone who played records knows that you
rarely hit the record directly over the spinal perfectly everytime. You can almost always see evidence of
it on the label by the hole.
Jacket Condition: Based on it being 48 years old I think it's in very good shape. The high gloss
cover still shines and looks very nice. There are some rub marks along the (center) top and bottom spines
from having it in a record crate I assume. There also is a slight fold on the bottom right corner as well.
*It comes with the original sleeve advertizing other EMI artists.
I purchased this from a Bristish vendor in Chicago at Beatlefest about 25 years ago. He brought
it across the pond with him. It was the best original stereo copy I found by a long shot. I've never
played it and have never cleaned it. When they first published this record mono was the standard
and nobody knew if this new "stereo" thing was going to last or not. The record company only made
about 10% of them in stereo due to the demand. Therefore there are not many good copies of the stereo
version floating around out there. The longest the record has been out of the sleeve since I bought it
was to photograph it and post here. I've ran a couple of record stores in the past but I am not an expert.
