Description
The Beatles Rubber Soul vinyl LP issued on EMI Parlophone label catalogue number PCS 3075. The record has black and silver labels with Parlophone logo in silver and twin EMI logo boxes at top and bottom of label (see photos). The matrix/ run-out markings are YEX 178-3 and YEX 179-3.
For full track listing see photo number 3.
Condition comments as follows:
Outer sleeve is in very good + condition, free from seam splits, tears, significant creases, labels, pen marks or writing. The printing on the spine is intact and fully legible. There is slight discolouration to the right hand edge of the back cover (see photo 2) and some very small creases to the laminate on the front cover, particularly along the spine edge.
Plain inner sleeve is in excellent condition. No seam splits, very light creasing in some places, mainly on corners.
Visual inspection of vinyl disc reveals a disc in generally extremely well preserved condition. When viewed in ordinary daylight side 1 has no apparent scratches, marks or defects, while side 2 has just a couple of very light hairline scratches.
However visual inspection is a very unreliable guide to audio quality. A disc which looks visually perfect may still have unresolvable skips or serious deterioration in sound quality. I have therefore test played this album in its entirety. On test play this record performs extremely well with excellent sound quality and is free from significant faults throughout. The only issue noted were a few crackles on the lead-ins to both sides, as one would expect with any record of this age which has been played more than a handful of times. The hairline scratches on side 2 mentioned above are not audible on test play.
