Description
The Beatles - SGT PEPPER * WIDE SPINE * 1st PRESS * MONO PMC7027 * BLAKE CUTOUTS
The vinyl is bright and clean and has been played through with no issues. It sits flat to the surface, has clean labels and spindle holes. There are some sleeve removal wisps and some visable but non feelable surface lines. Spindle trails can be seen at an angle.
The outer GATEFOLD cover has the much sought after EXTRA WIDE SPINE (8mm instead of the usual 6mm) allowing a small portion of the front and rear cover artwork to be seen on the spine. The full lamination is in good order, has retained a lovely sheen and only has minor age discolouration/wear to the corners/edges. It has the flipback to the inner spread top and states "Mono" twice on rear surface. A previous owner has written their name inside the inner front gatefold.
The green Peter Blake cutouts insert is in excellent condition.
The early matrix, mother and stamper codes are:
- Side 1 - XEX637-1 3 RT
- Side 2 - XEX638-1 2 RM (very feint viewed through a jeweler's loupe)
