Artist : THE BEATLES
LP Title : Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Label : Parlophone / PMC 7027 / 1967 / MONO
Matrix Numbers : XEX 637-1 [mother: 4 ][stamper: R L ] / YEX 638-1 [mother: 3 5 ][stamper: A O ]
Notes : First Mono Pressing, black & yellow Parlophone labels, with 'The Gramophone Co.' text around label rims and 'Sold In UK...' text in label centres, a 'K T ' tax code is embossed on the side-2 label, fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve wide spine (approx. 7mm) and top flipbacks visible inside the gatefold, original red & white 'psych' inner sleeve and colour cut-out sheet.
Condition : The vinyl is clean and glossy with a few light hairline marks, plus three or four heavier marks on side-1, we are playing through these now and they hardly affect the sounds quality of this heavy duty vinyl, just a patch of tiny little ticks (near the beginning of side-1), light static in a couple of places, and handful of tiny clicks (on 'Within You Without You'), with some minor distortion at louder moments, and near silence between tracks. This album plays really well, an EX- sound at worse and NM at best, with a nice warmth and clarity of sound.
The labels are clean with some light spindle wear to the centres.
The original psychedelic red & white inner sleeve shows only light wear, though does have a five-inch split to its lower edge. The cardboard 'cut-outs' sheet insert is completely intact with one thumbnail crease to the right-centre.
The outer sleeve is clean and glossy, there is a little wear/rubbing to the corners, some light wear down the opening edges and a series of thumbnail creases to the laminate on the front and back of the sleeve near the opening edge sides, the wide spine has some light wear though all text is unworn, clear and readable [see photo], there is some internal creasing visible inside the gatefold near to the spine.
A nice example of this classic Beatles album.
