Description
These two tracks are taken from the Decca audition on 1 January 1962, and appear here on vinyl in a wraparound sleeve.
Note the incorrect spelling of Leiber on the A Side, and the erroneous credit to Lennon and McCartney on the B Side, which was written by Harry B. Smith, Francis Wheeler and Ted Snyder.
September In The Rain was originally from the 1953 film Stars Over Broadway. It was released in the USA by Dinah Washington in September 1961.
The Sheik Of Araby was first performed in the stage musical Make It Snappy and featured in the 1940 Hollywood film Tin Pan Alley. It was released in 1961 by Fats Domino.
The Beatles' version, with George on lead vocal, was later officially released in 1995 on the album Anthology 1
