The Beatles Sgt. Pepper LP EMI 1 ONE BOX 1969 [Ex/Ex-] Lovely Audio

Description

An original 1969 One EMI Box copy on UK Parlophone. Matrix 1/1. Note how there's only one EMI logo box showing on the labels - this pressing was available for a short time from late-1969. The 1st One EMI Box copies were issued in a gatefold cover very similar to the original '67 copies from just two years earlier. The most discernible difference from the 67 copies is where the red & blue from the front just makes a slight appearance right at the top of the exposed flipbacks in the interior. We also have the original cut-outs and a generic EMI inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and has has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I couldn't make out more than a couple of minute marks per side - the surfaces look like mirrors. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. When on song this Lp is able to deliver Pepper with precision and poise - it is impressive. Clarity is excellent for the most part. The only slight dip in performance is during "She's Leaving Home" & "WI64". There's just a touch of light static audible in these two. Nothing remotely intrusive...they just won't play quite as darn clean as the rest of the LP. Overall a stellar rendition.
Cover (Ex-) Looking very smart with only a couple of thumbnail creases on the front. The rear looks superb - no issues at all. The interior is exemplary - really very smart. Edge wear is pretty limited and the openings are till sharpish. The spine exhibits a bit of handling - but all text is still legible [overall it's better than many specimens]. The cover still retains excellent rigidity and remains a very lush original example.
Inner (Ex-) A one inch side split. Little ageing apparent.
Cut-Outs (Ex) No issues - very nice.
