Description

An original 1st press of Pepper on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1-GAR/3-GAP. The heavy vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse flipback stereo cover. Also included is the original Emi black and white inner sleeve and also the green cut-outs.
Vinyl (Ex) In very nice condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a number of very light superficial marks - the sought that are not going to feature audibly. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Now, the usual problem you find with Pepper is that even good-looking copies have been played a lot. And this tends to lead to a bit of back ground interference - which quite frankly is irritating. Thankfully I can report that this copy is reasonably low-mileage and said issues do not really feature. The only track where we detected any light interference is in 'She's Leaving Home' - which is common. And even this is minor and not remotely invasive. Overall this is a very clean playing copy with even those low-key tracks like WIYWY and WI64 playing clear with a quiet background. And this is Pepper after all..you need a clean copy to do it justice..
Cover (Ex) A lovely looking cover that has clearly been cared for down the years. Nice and shiny front with just a couple of light creases. The rear is in similar condition - lovely shiny with all that vivid colour intact. The interior is pretty much perfect. Edge wear is very light and the all the text on the spine is still legible - which is actually difficult to find. Just the start of a small tear on the bottom seam at the opening, on the rear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remain a terrific example.
Inner (Ex) No issues at all. No splits. No markings or ageing.
Cut-outs (Ex) No issues. Very nice.
