THE BEATLES - 'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
This outstanding UK 1st MONO pressing dates from initial June 1967 release on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text with a 'KT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 2 label
Earliest matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper codes: 2/OT & 4/OL
Vinyl weight: 155g
Housed within a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold mono cover...
...with a 9mm 'wide' spine
Complete with original unused cut-out sheet & red & white designer inner-sleeve

A clean & unblemished pair with a small collection of very faint spindle trails around each centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Both playing surfaces are totally unmarked and 'as new' viewed in strong daylight with just some light wispy paper-type hairlines consistent with inners-sleeve removal and a sparkling rainbow shine visible beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp.
Sound Quality: NEAR MINT
This copy has clearly been sparingly and carefully played on quality equipment as the sound quality throughout is flawless. My playcheck detected no trace of any groove/playwear distortion, even on the delicate 'She's Leaving Home'. Nor did it find any ticks, clicks, pops or other such distraction. In fact, apart from a touch of low-level vinyl background on the fade of 'A Day In The Life', there is nothing to fault.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
An exquisite example of this earliest cover type which apart from a very light touch of shelfwear is difficult to fault.
The front panel is vibrant & unfaded with a sparkling unrubbed/unscratched high-gloss laminate, free from any 'thumbnail' wrinkles.
There is slight bruising to the left corners but no significant wear to any opening edge
The rear panel is just as glossy and is also free from any 'thumbnails' or wear.
The only blemish here is a small circle of dried adhesive in the upper right corner from a long-departed price sticker.
Both panels inside the gatefold are pristine with just a few tiny flecks of missing paper to the unlaminated edges of the flipovers
The spine is clean & square with just a few tiny nicks along the red rear edge which are visible in the above image
All seams are smooth unstressed & unsplit
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Clean & white where is should be, with no creasing, writing, tears or seam splits
Cut-out sheet: MINT
