The Beatles: Something New. LP. Capitol. Green Label Record Club Edition.
Hello everyone.
 Here we have another entry in the Record Club Edition of the Beatles LPs this time with "Something New". Originally released in 1964 this Club Edition pressing comes from 1969. As shown in the photos it bears the green Capitol label with a cute little record cuddled inside the purple "C" and the catalog number reflects the Club Edition. Whereas the standard stock number for the stereo version was "ST-2108" this has the "ST-8-2108" designation along with the three stripes found on the upper left corner. The notation "16" found in photo 7 tells us it came from the Jacksonville, Illinois plant. But you already knew that.
Looking again at the photos we see the cover's front is in handsome condition aside from a bending in the upper right corner. Flipping the album over photo number 5 shows the same area has a light browning. The three stripes are displayed in photos 1, 2, 3, and 6 which also shows an overlapping. This is most likely a manufacturing error. Some human type thing.
The vinyl itself looks to be in Very Good Plus condition though as you can imagine I am extremely hesitant to play such a treasure. Want me to play it? Let me know and I will. If such a request comes in you'll see the updated notation. You may be wondering about what appears to be strange looking bubblings on the record. Those aren't bubbles but reflections from the roof of the photo booth. The other photos (11 and 12) present a better representation.
All in all this is simply a beautiful copy of the hard to come by Record Club Editions.
