Complete with Poster/4 Card Prints & Black Inner Sleeves

Catalogue Number: PCS 7067/Year of Release 1968

Vinyl/s: Ex / All four sides of this double LP are consistent regarding their fine condition, which is uncommon with this album. All four sides display a lovely gloss sheen, which under harsh light does display minimal signs of wear. I have looked at all four sides individually to try and give a more accurate account of this LP, but there really is little difference between any of the sides. If I were to be really harsh I may grade side 3 as a really strong VG+, but no great difference is apparent. The early dark green apple labels all display little regarding evidence of play, with only a small amount of light spinal wear.

I bought this as a dealer from a record shop only one year ago for very good money and the shop owner who I know well informed me that the guy he bought it off would have had this set from new. I say this because there is a slight difference regarding the two LP’s labels. Disc 1 shows on the left hand side of both labels (above side1/2) An E.M.I Recording, whereas the second disc omits this. It is a small detail that merely means one label replacing the other and this copy was obviously issued around the time of the change.

Cover: Vg+ / A fine example of this fragile and often miscoloured fully laminated Top Loader Gatefold stereo sleeve. It still retains it’s original whiteness, with far less yellowing than you would usually find on this cover. The relief ‘THE BEATLES’ on the front is clean and undamaged, along with the all important number, which remains strong, clear and unfaded. There is little wear to corners and edges of the spine, with the weakest area being the bottom right corner, even this damage is slight. There is some ring wear apparent on outside of the sleeve, but nothing severe. The spine is strong, with only a tiny area where the lamination has split, this is only 8mm in length and runs along the spine. When held in the right light and tilted, there is are small matt areas to the top left of the front of the cover towards the spine area, this is slight. Inside the cover there is also traces of where someone had once listed Sides 1-4 along the track listing. Although this has been removed and has left nothing major at all, you can still see slight evidence of this. The Top Loader openings are all crisp with only slight signs of wear.

Poster: Ex / The clean and crisp foldout original ‘Lipstick Kiss’ poster is in great shape, with no tears, rips, writing or staining. Only some slight creasing is visible towards bottom of the poster which runs along the centre, other than this minor point the poster remains in its original condition.

Photo Prints: Ex+ / The lovely clean original photo prints are all printed on the thicker original card. They display hardly any signs of wear at all. Only the top right corner of John Lennon shows a very minor knock, to call this a crease would be exaggerating.

Black Inner Sleeves: Vg+ / The two original black inners are both in great shape. So often these are prone to a lot of damage, with a die cut inner circle on only one side of each of the inners and both of these display no damage around this fragile area. Only around the four corners (beyond the area of which the record sits) is there any creasing. There is a slight nick to one of the inners along the side, but this isn’t severe. Someone has written ‘THE BEATLES’ in biro on each inner, but because this is on black paper it is hardly noticeable.
