Description
Who was it that said the mid-1970's, Orange Capitol Beatles LP's held no interest for collectors? Well, in my humble opinion this variation of The Beatles White Album is an exception to that assumption. This is a hard to find 1978 issue that is manufactured by Monarch Records in Los Angeles California.
This is a non-Capitol manufactured album using metal parts from the L.A. factory with the L.A. * found in the run out area. Also found in the run out are the initials MR in a circle indicating Monarch Records. Additionally, the Delta symbol is included in the dead wax with MASTERED BY CAPITOL machine stamped. And last but not least, there are two separate Monarch job numbers, one series on each LP.
The labels have the distinct wide pressing ring rarely seen on any of the Capitol Orange label issues. The title on the front cover is in non-embossed Grey lettering. SWBO-101.
So there you have it. It's not a "Butcher" but it's a Beatles collectible that is seldom seen! If there are any questions, please ask. The Records are graded VG++. The Labels are Near Mint. The Cover is VG+ with some ring wear.
