For sale - a low number, 0176208, mono copy of the Beatles White Album. Produced in 1968, this EMI LP, with cover by Garrod and Lofthouse is a great collectors item. The cover is in good condition, although is rather yellowed with age. The spine is intact but there is a little wear on each of the corners. The two records are incased in the original black sleeves, both in good condition, with some creasing, no tears but a bit of "nibbling" around the inner ring.
The pictures of the four Beatles, original to the record, are in excellent condition, with no tears and the colours are as bright as the day they were printed, as they have not been exposed to the light at all. The original lyric poster is also in good condition, although unfortunately is has an address written on one corner, on the lyric side! (Not guilty, if I found out who I would have given them some stick!). There are no tears in the poster but clear fold marks consistent with its age.
To the eye, the 2 records have some surface scratches, but since I no longer have a record player I am unable to play them and tell you whether they stick or jump. My guess would be that although I didn't play the album must (I didn't really like it), the record was carried around to parties and as a result there may be some hisses and crackles consistent with the marks on the vinyl. The records may well benefit from a professional clean (is that possible)?, but the buyer must accept my desciption as being as accurate and fair as I can be without the means of playing the album.
