Description
The Beatles - The Beatles (aka The White Album) - 1969 Original Apple MONO Reel to Reel Tape Record.
An incredibly rare 43 year old item.
Catalogue Number TA-PMC 7067/8 - housed in a jewel case.
Twin Track - you played it one way and then had to play it the other way around before you could listen to the same side again (not unlike cassettes from the 70s and 80s).

The jewel case is in PERFECT original condition - so many of them by now have cracks, chips or broken hinges. Not this one...
The tape has the original printed "leader" and is in the original 5" EMITAPE spool inside the box (again, see pics below). All other Beatles Reel To Reel tapes were on 4" spools but as this was a double album, it needed a 5" spool to accomodate all the extra tape length.
You'll also notice from the pictures below that unlike the LP version, the Reel To Reel version uniquely does not feature a pressing number on the front of the white cover.
Ten years ago, in Record Collector magazine, this was pretty much seen to be the jewel in the crown of Beatles Reel To Reel collectables and valued at £80-£100. I can't think the value has gone down in the intervening period.
I'm listing FIVE Beatles Reel to Reel tapes on eBay this week - if anyone wants to make me a sensible offer for the whole lot then I'll throw in a mains powered 1960s Reel to Reel tape player as well - in full working order. This can be connected to a modern home HiFi by virtue of a DIN to RCA Phono connector so you can actually listen to these! Anyone who wants the player will however have to collect it as it's a tonne weight!
