Description
The Beatles "The Beatles" aka "The White Album" 1968/69 Apple SWBO-101 first-pressing issue (cover, photos, and poster), embossed and "numbered" (A2302414), Double-LP gatefold cover, in NM/NM- condition (no seam splits, no stains, straight and square), with all of the original inserts in totally NM condition (the 4 photos are the very 1st-pressing hard-stock photos with the USA in a circle), the 1st-pressing poster (see photo #12) is also in beautiful, unmarred, top condition (please see all photos). According to Spizer [The Beatles On Apple Records] cover numbers "in the approximate range of 2,250,000 and 2,500,000 were probably printed by Queen's Litho as part of its second run of outside slicks", the cover's inside slick is also a "2nd run" (having the copyright notice), and therefore probably manufactured in 1969. As the Winchester, Virginia plant began pressing records in late 1969, I believe this cover with the 1st-press inserts was part of a batch sent to the Winchester factory to be paired with their new records. Both records' deadwax contain the "rifle" or "sideways wine glass" indicative of the Winchester pressings, the matrix numbers are: Side 1: SWBO-1-101-A71, Side 2: SWBO-2-101-A70, Side 3: SWBO-3-101-A75, and Side 4: SWBO-4-101-A68#2. These record labels have "Mfd. by Apple Records" on the full side of the label [Spizer-cataloged APP 101.SR2(af)]. The records are NM/NM/NM/NM with gorgeous labels, this copy comes with the original, manilla inner sleeves also in NM condition; both records will be shipped in audiophile MFSL sleeves (Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs). To find this cover (not to mention the vinyl) in this condition is unbelievably hard (I haven't seen a numbered cover without seam splits for probably 10 years).
