An original Xmas-1963 copy of WTB on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 7N/7N. WTB was first released in November 1963 and the archive records show that pre-orders were in the region of 300,000! So, all the very early Jobete copies [1N/1N etc 3N etc] would have been pressed and ready for sale on day 1! A copy like this one will follow only a short time later due to the phenomenal number pressed for the November release date. The perimeter text still reads 'Parlophone'  as per the '63 copies, and "recording 1st pub" is still present too. Importantly, there is NO mention of the 'Sold In the UK..' statement which was introduced spring '64. And this copy also has been stamped with the 1963 tax code "MT". So, I would estimate this record was available for sale Xmas-1963 right at the height of Beatle mania...[ and a mere two months from 1st release]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L Mono cover with the appropriate Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely stunning condition - records from '63 very very rarely surface looking this pristine. It is nothing short of a time-traveller...Under close inspection I can barely make out a single mark on these super shiny unused surfaces. Intros and inbetweens are perfectly quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I shouldn't need to reiterate that this is extremely unusual on an early Beatles record. The audio is to die for delivering a nigh on perfect rendition from start to finish. Listen intently and you'll really even struggle to pick out a couple of crackles either side. THIS is precisely the sort of copy a serious collector should be looking to snag. You will never find a better late-63 playing copy. All the quiet sections play perfectly clean. And just think...it's THE BEATLES...it's a couple of months from those original masters. This is phenomenal provenance, and unbelievable preservation. This equates to an "easy" FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex) The original owner can only have been a very fastidious individual. How on earth does an early copy like this surface looking this good? Lovely clean, shiny, and flat cover with precious little signs of wear or ageing. The only thing I can spot on the front is two minuscule thumbnail creases.The rear, which is the usual problem area, has pretty much avoided the usual ageing process. All flipbacks are secure and totally intact. Edge wear is minimal and the openings are almost sharpish! The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and really defies all the odds. What a specimen!
